Dear Parents,
We are excited to be releasing our 2020-2021 School Reopening Plan! We are so happy to have our doors open and to have everyone together. The teachers and staff miss the children terribly. Our Health and Safety and Academic Teams have worked intensively on creating a plan that allows for continued excellence from our students all while working around some of the restrictions we have been mandated to put into place. Our first priority will always be to keep our children, our staff, and our families safe. To the end, we have created guidelines and procedures to be followed throughout the school day. We ask that you read through the information so that you are familiar with the requirements. Please talk with your child, too, about the importance of following the guidelines to keep everyone safe. We are confident we have established the safest possible environment for our students to walk back into the school. Every decision we made had our students’ best interests in mind!
This plan is going to be a working document, meaning it will evolve with the changes in requirements given to us by the Archdiocese of Chicago, State, and the Department of Public Health.
We also recognize that things may change quickly, just as they did last spring. Please stay current with communication you receive from the school. We will use email and School Messenger to communicate with each of you. We are open to your comments and suggestions, as well as any concerns you may have. Please reach out to us at any time, with anything you need. You can email me at lmoscinski.annunciatags@gmail.com or call the school.
Thank you for your support of Annunciata School.

Dear Families,
This will be the plan for in person instruction for our Annunciata students. A detailed reopening plan will be sent out Monday. As of today, there are 85 of 150 students planning to return to the classroom. We are excited that we will be getting to see our students again in the classroom. We will be providing both in person instruction as well as remote learning through Annunicata school teachers. Three of our teachers have been selected to provide the remote learning platform for those that have chosen to keep their children at home, the details of that plan was distributed yesterday.
We will have the rest of the teachers providing the in person instruction inside the classrooms. The plan will be to have Mrs. Miller with the PreK 3 and 4 year old students, which would include 7 students in the class. Miss Soto will have the Kindergarten and First Grade students in one cohort classroom with a total of 13 students in that cohort. Miss Cabral will have the second grade students in one class with a total of 11 students in that cohort. The third grade class will be comprised of 13 students in that cohort and the fourth and fifth grade class will be combined into one cohort with 15 students in that cohort. The third grade cohort will have Mrs. Stahl as the homeroom teacher and the fourth/fifth grade cohort will have Mrs. Lovingood as their homeroom teacher. Mrs. Stahl and Mrs. Lovingood will change classes with each other to teach math and religion to the various cohorts. The junior high 6th and 7th grade class will be combined into a cohort with Mrs. Finlon as the homeroom teacher and the 8th grade will be a cohort with a teacher to be determined. I am in the interview process for the new junior high math teacher. The junior high teachers will also switch classes for various subjects. This plan will be flexible and may be adjusted based on the needs of our students.
Each grade level will still receive their grade level instruction. Curriculum maps/pacing guides have been created for each grade level for both uses of in-person and remote learning instruction. The first term will also have built-in considerations for socio-emotional needs of students. The students have not been in the classroom for awhile and we want to make sure any needs are met. We will use i-Ready in the beginning of the year to access any learning needs.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. I know that you are anxious to see what the year will entail but we are diligently working on this plan so that we have a safe and cohesive learning environment.
