Pre-Kindergarten is a crucial step in preparing a four-year-old for success in Kindergarten. "Children who attend high-quality preschool enter kindergarten with better pre-reading skills, richer vocabularies, and stronger basic math skills than those who do not," says W. Steven Barnett, PhD, Director at the National Institute for Early Education Research, or NIEER (Reference: Parents Magazine, Feb. 2007). Ms. Laura Miller, our pre-kindergarten teacher, has been teaching Preschool 3 and Pre-K 4 at Annunciata for over 20 years. On the first day of Pre-K 4, Ms. Miller conducts an orientation for the child and parent(s) to help transition both to the program.
